Poche emozioni nel mercoledì di Champions, allo stadio Evzena Rosichenko di Praga. Tanta sostanza, però, che si traduce nella legittima quanto matematica qualificazione al turno successivo della massima competizione europea per club.

L’Arsenal si affida ad una formazione completamente rivoluzionata, con Song e Diarra in difesa, Denilson, Gilberto e Diaby in mediana, e il duo Walcott-Eduardo a supportare Bendtner, come punta avanzata.

Nello Slavia Praga rientra Vlado Smicer, ma nemmeno il suo ritorno conferisce vigore alla formazione di casa, reduce dal pesante 0-7 di Londra. Il match di stasera non avrà nulla a che vedere con la precedente giornata di Champions. E non solo per la povertà del risultato. Quanto per la totale mancanza di spettacolo, gioco ed enfasi, finora ammirati nelle varie partite disputate.

I Gunners, per la prima volta dall’inizio della stagione, non riescono a mantenere il loro ritmo, fallendo anche in fase di costruzione. Difficile poter commentare un’azione degna di nota. Non tanto diversa l’analisi fatta in merito ai padroni casa. Sicuramente più propositivi, ma velleitari nel 90% dei casi. Nel secondo tempo, Adebayor rileva uno spento Bendtner, ma la mossa non porta i cambiamenti sperati. 

La seconda frazione pare aprirsi con una velocità più sostenuta. Ma tale impressioni finiscono per cadere con l’incedere dei primi 10 minuti, dopo i quali la noia della prima frazione torna a rifarsi sotto.

A parte un’occasione per Gilberto, innescato da Adebayor, e qualche conclusione fuori misura di Kalivoda e Hubacek, la partita non offre più nulla, concludendosi a reti bianche. Davvero poco per una squadra abituata a stupire, o quantomeno a divertire, imponendo il suo gioco. Bisogna capire fino a che punto le varie assenze giustifichino tale prestazione.

Di certo, non bisogna fare allarmismi. La qualificazione era alla portata, ed ora è una realtà concreta. Si trattava della panchina  numero 100 in Champions League, da parte di Arsène Wengèr. Di cui 93 con i Gunners. Forse, unico vero dato da registrare di questa serata, oltre alla notizia di una meritatissima qualificazione anticipata.

[lang_en]Just few emotions, in this Champions League Day, at Evzena Rosichenko Stadium, in Prague. Much substance, anyway, in the result of a definitive and absolute qualification to the next round of the most important European competition for clubs.

Arsenal formation is completely modified, with Song and Diarra on the backline, Denilson, Gilberto and Diaby on the midfield, and the duo Eduardo-Walcott to support Bendtner, as central forward.

As regards Slavia Prague, Vladimir Smicer rejoins the starting eleven, but his return  is not able to give force and consistency to his side, coming from the 0-7 of the Emirates. Today fixture will be completely different from the previous one. Not only for the lack of goal, or for the poorness of the final results.

It’s just for the lack of quality, pace and emphasis of the game, admired in the matches played so far. For the first time in their season, the Gunners have not been able to maintain their usual rhythm, mentality, failing the construction of the efforts. It will be hard to comment a note-worthy action. Not a different analysis as regards the home players. For sure, they have been more active, but in the 90% of the situations, they have been inoffensive.

 In the second half, Adebayor replaces an almost anonymous Bendtner, but the move by the Alsatian manager doesn’t provide the hoped changes. It seems that the second part of the game’s opening is faster, quicker. Those impressions finish to fall after the first 10 minutes. Then the game returns boring.

Putting apart a chance for Gilberto, engaged by Adebayor, and a pair of long-range efforts by Kalivoda and Hubacek, the match has no more to say, confirming the 0-0. Not so good, really not so good for a team that entertains the crowd, game after game, forcing its game style. We need to understand if the absences will justify this bad performance. Certainly, there is nothing to worry about. Qualification was possible, and now it’s definitively concrete. It was the Wengèr’s 100th game as manager, in the Champions League. 93 games as Arsenal manager.
